Scope of Position:
Auger Fabrication a top supplier in accessories and parts for filling machines. Auger Fab is seeking a Hand Grinding/Polishing Worker to grind, sand, and polish augers made from stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic materials.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Grind, sand, and polish augers made from stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic materials according to specification on work order and blueprints.
- Inspects materials for accuracy and correct any defects.
- Prepare surface for further finishing.
- Measure certain parts.
- Maintains and cleans equipment and work area.
- Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to company safety policy and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Communication skills.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to grinding and polishing assignments.
- Knowledge and experience with stainless and carbon steel an added advantage.
- Willingness to learn and strong desire to continually expand and advance skill set.
- Strong attendance and dependability.
Work Environment:
This job takes place within a clean, well lit, ventilated and air-conditioned manufacturing facility. Subject to noise from machinery. Regularly exposed to hazardous situations and equipment, such as high-speed machines. Regularly exposed to loud noise from machines used. Some safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Some overtime required as business needs dictate.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
