Description
The part time Medical Assistant (MA) works 2 days a week at the Missouri Innovation Campus which is located in Lees Summit. The MA utilizes excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude to assist providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care, helping to ensure the efficient flow of patients through our college health care setting in a culturally sensitive manner.
Examples of Duties
Conducts pre-visit planning, obtains vitals, room patients, accompanies providers in exam rooms, administers injections, performs phlebotomy, assists with procedures as needed and performs other duties as assigned based on clinic needs. - 50%
Utilizes the Electronic Medical System to maintain medical records, scans and downloads documents, ensures all required documentation is available in the medical record, distributes reports and correspondence, files, photocopies and processes forms related to medical charts. - 20%
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stocks assigned areas and ensures periodic automatic replenishment (PAR) levels of supplies are maintained, and checks and completes required logs and equipment. - 40%

Typical Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program OR
- At least one (1) year of medical assisting in an ambulatory/outpatient setting OR
- Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
- One (1) year Medical Assistant experienced preferred. Experience can be gained concurrently through certification process.
Physical/Environmental Factors:
- Excessive standing and/or walking
- Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals
- Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases.
- Ability to lift or support patients.
