Job Overview:
APTIM's Energy Transition team is seeking an experienced Trade Ally Manager to support Wisconsin's Focus on Energy Program. This position is based in Wisconsin and will be responsible for supporting the development and management of the Program's Trade Ally network of more than 1,000 energy efficiency trade allies and market actors. This role may also support Trade Ally efforts related to the delivery of rebates and incentives available through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This individual will report to the Sr. Energy Portfolio Manager working directly with the Programs Team.
APTIM's work in Wisconsin has centred on administration of Focus on Energy, one of the longest standing energy efficiency and clean energy programs in the country. This award-winning program serves 107 utility territories across the Wisconsin market and supports more than 50,000 energy efficiency projects annually. Coordination among the Focus on Energy team will be essential to create a seamless customer experience.

Our technical experts deliver highly innovative projects and complex client solutions providing the full breadth of energy solutions including energy management, carbon management, smart energy infrastructure, distributed energy resources (DER), and carbon-free mobility solutions. Our consultants proactively collaborate with clients to define and implement strategies and campaigns around key business drivers, with the primary focus of finding and delivering high-impact projects exceeding expectations and meeting the unique needs for our commercial and retail clients.
The successful candidate will immediately assume an active role overseeing daily operations related to Trade Ally engagement and strategy. As the Trade Ally Manager, you must be a critical thinker able to manage multiple tasks, be well-versed in program delivery and design, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role requires a person who is accountable, personable, detail-oriented, and pragmatic. Individuals in this role will be expected to communicate across functional teams to exchange ideas, embrace a collaborative approach, take ownership of their workspace, and find solutions to challenges as they arise.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Develop and deploy a comprehensive strategy related to engagement, outreach, and retention of the varying market actors supporting the sales and/or installation of energy-efficient equipment in Wisconsin.
Expand the diversity of the Trade Ally network, including identifying and recruiting diverse business enterprises (DBE) and improving geographic accessibility to qualified Trade Allies.
Work with Portfolio Managers to identify program-specific Trade Ally related needs, support the development of targeted efforts, and facilitate coordination with implementation teams as needed.
Provide regular communication to the network regarding program related opportunities or changes. Communications may include, but are not limited to, webinars, newsletters, advisory group meetings, and one-on-one visits.
Facilitate collaboration and communication among internal teams and implementers to minimize crossover and ensure a cohesive approach to contractor recruitment and retention efforts.
Monitor Trade Ally participation trends and use findings to inform actions needed to ensure the Program's long-term success.
Address Trade Ally code of conduct violations and facilitate disciplinary action if needed.
Lead the development of tools and resources needed to improve the Trade Ally experience.
Gather information from market actors and stakeholders to inform outreach and retention strategies.
Oversee the tracking and management of the Trade Ally network within the Program database.
Manage, coordinate, and support initiatives related to developing and training a diverse and skilled residential energy workforce across the state.
Provide expertise related to Trade Ally engagement best practices.
All other duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of industry experience in energy efficiency required.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to respectfully handle difficult conversations.
Skills in conflict resolution and consensus building with diverse stakeholders.
Strong service orientation with the ability to work across multiple departments and units within an organization, external clients, and multiple stakeholders.
Ability to effectively communicate (oral, written, presentation, public speaking) with internal customers and external clients.
Ability to assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities to interpret data and solve practical problems. Ability to travel statewide and occasionally out-of-state.
Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to manage competing priorities with established deadlines Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment within the team and the broader organization.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
CEM or similar certification or the desire to obtain.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics.
