LICENSING & ACCREDITATION SPECIALIST
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS :
Oversee Compliance with Licensing and Contractual Requirements:
- Liaison with licensing and contract representatives (e.g., inspections, complaints, child abuse investigations)
- Respond to questions, concerns, requests for information and updates
- Organize and oversee inspections and audits - includes all preparation and gathering required documentation
- Develop and submit all corrective action plans (e.g., IL SUPR, BOP, Department of Health, MD, Washington DC, Philadelphia DHS)
- Complete Annual License Renewals
- Verify completion of external incident reports (e.g., HCSIS Reports, MD Incident Report Form RCCP/CPA).
- Monitor compliance with standards
- Training and technical assistance to all employees when needed
- Update application annually and monitor extranet site
- Organize and oversee survey - includes all preparation and gathering required documentation
- Develop and submit all corrective action plans (e.g., Evidence of Standards Compliance)
- Develop meeting agendas and track follow-up items
- Develop and maintain meeting minutes
- Data collection, tracking, and presentations for analysis
- Assist with the development of meeting agendas and track follow-up items when needed
- Assist Safety Officer in monitoring fire drills and emergency drills
- Verify compliance with Joint Commission requirements
- Facilitate and organize data collection, presentation, and analysis (e.g., Workplace Violence incidents, Injuries, Infection Control data, Physical Interventions)
- Complete annual requirements for updates and analysis (e.g., EOC plans, Infection Control, Hazard Vulnerability Analysis, WVPP Annual Analysis).
- Responsible for managing the policy directory
- Provide policies when requested (e.g., licensing, contracting agency)
- Develop new and revise existing policies when needed
- Submit new and revised policies to the Leadership Team and AYFS Policy Council for review and approval
- Distribute new and revised policies to facility employees, as appropriate
- Verifies compliance with Joint Commission requirements
- Complete annual policy updates (e.g., Environment of Care Plans, Infection Control Plans)
- Report HIPAA incidents to the Chief Privacy Officer
- Gather information and complete required report to address HIPAA incident
- Verify annual HIPAA training is completed with all employees
- Collect and distribute grievances to be processed
- Follow-up when necessary
- Track and file grievances
- Provide guidance, training, and consultation to Leadership Team, supervisors, and employees regarding licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and contractual requirements.
- Associate's degree or 60 credits from an accredited college or university, plus four years of related experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree or 120 credits from an accredited college or university, plus two years of related experience; OR
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university, plus one year of related experience.
- Knowledge of the principles and use of tools used for data collection, data analysis, and performance improvement.
- Knowledge of applicable licensing (e.g., DHS, DDAP), contractual (e.g., MD DJS, BOP), accreditation (e.g., TJC), and certification (e.g., PREA) standards.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices related to the residential treatment of delinquent and dependent youth.
- Proficient writing skills (e.g., formulate and/or revise policies and procedures, develop corrective action plans/responses to licensing and contractual entities).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, with a diverse group of people including regulatory agency representatives, employees, clients, governing body members, and the general public.
- Ability to self-start, work independently and adhere to timelines on a consistent basis with a minimum of assistance and supervision.
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Driver's License
- TB and drug testing.
- Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)
- Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
