Draper Media has an immediate opening for a Director of Sales to oversee all advertising sales for our seven television stations, seven radio stations and digital properties. We’re a family-owned media company based on the beautiful Delmarva peninsula, between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, attention to detail and sales management skills with exceptional knowledge of ratings, inventory control, pricing, negotiations and broadcast political advertising rules.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing leadership and direction to Draper Media’s team of Media Advertising Specialists
- Providing training and support to Media Specialists in local business research and canvassing prospects
- Working with Media Specialists to develop marketing plans, advertising platforms and client proposals
- Establishing sales targets and goals for the stations and for the individual media specialists
What You Will Need To Succeed
- Outside sales knowledge and ability for prospecting new clients and building relationships with current clients
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations and to coach others on same
- Aggressive can-do attitude to meet and exceed established sales targets
- Effective motivational leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience gained through increasingly responsible positions in a Sales and Marketing function
- Specific experience in media advertising is strongly preferred
