PROPULSION ENGINEER – TURBOMACHINERY (III)

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and innovative engineer to join our dynamic team as a Turbomachinery Engineer. Your responsibilities will include taking ownership of turbomachinery hardware throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design to testing, to improve capability and reliability for our launch vehicles and expand human access to space. You will play a vital role in driving design, production, and testing of turbomachinery for various spaceflight systems. In this leadership position, you will need to utilize your strong design knowledge and mechanical design fundamentals to guide and mentor teammates, while also making significant contributions to the entire design cycle of turbomachinery. The role also involves root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product and process quality. Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 5+ years proven track record in production, manufacturing, and assembly of turbomachinery components
  • Strong knowledge of hardware fabrication and quality control
  • Solid understanding of rotating machinery component design and manufacturing including turbines, impellers, cases, bearings, and seals
  • Proficiency in data analysis and post-processing to assess component health
  • Ability to effectively lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams
  • CAD and modeling experience

Desired:

  • Experience with quality management systems supporting aerospace and propulsion-related hardware
  • Experience transitioning products from development to production
  • Experience with product production, qualification testing and flight operations
  • Experience with turbomachinery specific to rocket engine applications
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility

Compensation: Compensation range for on-site WA applicants is $111,690-$156,366. Other site ranges may differ.
