The Associate Director of Development for The McCourt School of Public Policy is a vital member of the University’s frontline fundraising team and will play a critical role in building connectivity, engagement, and philanthropic support for The McCourt school. This position will be responsible for raising philanthropic support specifically for the school and must also represent the broader institution as needed. As Georgetown is in the midst of an exciting and ambitious Campaign, Called to Be , the position holder will need to communicate the wider campaign priorities and also dig deeply into the priorities and initiatives of McCourt. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Fundraising

  • Build and manage a portfolio of 100-120 prospective donors and current donors, with prospects ranging in giving capacity from $25,000 to $500,000.
  • Develop and implement an effective strategy for attaining specific fundraising goals for McCourt.
  • Conduct visits with the purpose of qualifying prospective donors and sharing McCourt priorities.
  • Work internally to present and pitch the appropriate opportunities for support.
  • Create individualized engagement plans for donors.

Donor Engagement, Events, and GUOA Partnerships

  • Build out McCourt-led donor event strategies, including planning and execution.
  • Work with OA colleagues on various events.
  • Expose McCourt constituents to faculty and administrators.
  • Manage any McCourt boards that require a philanthropic commitment.
  • Engage volunteer leaders to further gift conversations and connections.

Indirect Fundraising and Administrative Work

  • Write or edit correspondence and other written materials.
  • Maintain accurate data in Advancement’s CRM – GU360.
  • Manage a travel and program budget.
  • Verify the accuracy of gift reports.
  • Participate in OA sponsored events and training programs.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Senior Director, McCourt. The ADOD, McCourt will partner with OA colleagues and interact with principals, faculty, and other University leaders to reach fundraising and engagement goals.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three to five years of professional experience in a development/fundraising environment.
  • A desire to contribute to Georgetown University’s mission.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
  • Experience with prospect management systems and CRM systems.
  • Ability to adapt communication style and work style to meet constituent needs.
  • Highly collaborative, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Possesses professional maturity and can apply tact and confidentiality.
  • Takes initiative and has strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid 2 Days . Work mode designations are regularly reviewed.

Pay Range: The projected salary range for this position is: $54,616.00 - $100,493.33. Compensation is determined by various factors.
