Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to provide support to our San Diego location.
Responsibilities Include:
Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.
Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.
Collecting and monitoring program Quality metrics and implementing Return To Green (RTG) plans when required.
Assist with the review of practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality.
Conduct process audits on programs, planned and unplanned, to ensure program success.
A basic knowledge of interpreting customer contractual, technical and MA requirements and ensure these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product drawings.
Familiar with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and Problem-Solving activities on program-specific, quality system and business system deficiencies.
Represent Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards including but not limited to Configuration Control Board (CCB), Material Review Board (MRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), Design/Peer Reviews, Manufacturing/Test Readiness Reviews and Corrective Action Board (CAB).
Basic Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering AND 9 years of experience OR MS with 7 years of experience OR PhD with 4 years of experience.
Demonstrated leadership.
Root Cause Analysis.
Strong knowledge of MRB (Material Review Board) standards.
Strong understanding of PES (Lean) principles with experience leading and implementing significant improvements such as mistake proofing.
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills - Project Management Skills.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated understanding of quality engineering, inspection methods, production control, manufacturing operations, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, defect analysis, control of nonconforming material, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.
Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to help drive continuous improvement.
CAM/Earned Value certification.
Salary Range: $129,700 - $194,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
