Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Manager with expertise in Splunk to join our dynamic team. This role is unique, requiring a balance of technical proficiency and management skills. The successful candidate will spend 50% of their time managing a team of consultants and the other 50% performing Splunk technical work for our valued customers. This position is crucial to ensuring the successful delivery of projects, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, and driving the growth of our technical team.
Management Duties (50%)
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of consultants, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee project assignments, ensuring consultants are optimally utilized and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and track the progress of team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Address any team or project-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and quality of service.
- Support Splunk Consultants when they have technical questions and road blocks.
Splunk Technical Duties (50%)
- Design, develop, and implement Splunk solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Perform Splunk installations, configurations, and upgrades.
- Create and manage Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Splunk-related issues for customers.
- Conduct data analysis and provide insights to customers based on Splunk data.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and provide expert recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Splunk features and best practices to ensure optimal performance and value for customers.
Qualifications
- Experience with several data analysis tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of IT operations, security, and monitoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role with significant Splunk expertise.
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably managing a team of consultants.
- Strong technical skills in Splunk, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant Splunk certifications are highly desirable.
