Starkey is hiring Systems Engineers to serve in technical leadership roles to lead the definition of new products, technologies, and features and their integration into Starkey's hearing aid system. Systems Engineers are responsible for collaborating with Product Management to understand the needs of the user and the professional, collaborating with Advanced Development to understand the capabilities of new technologies and the system impact of new features, and collaborating with Engineering to align on expectations for product design.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with architects and subject matter experts to define the system partitioning and ensure consistency across projects and programs
  • Lead a cross-functional team in use case development, tradeoff analysis, and technical risk assessment
  • Define and document prioritized system level requirements that satisfy stakeholder needs and drive subsystem requirements and designs
  • Lead system level design reviews
  • Own the system impact analysis of new products, features, and technologies
  • Partner with Systems Verification to develop a robust system integration and verification plan
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements for class II medical devices and the international markets in which they are sold
  • Serve as the Technical Lead / Lead Engineer for a project or program, as assigned

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; Graduate degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a product or technology development environment; 10+ years of experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering principals, including architecture, design, use cases, risk management, tradeoff analysis, and requirements generation
  • Working knowledge in multiple technical disciplines, such as embedded systems, wireless connectivity, sensors, acoustics, and software / mobile apps
  • Demonstrated leadership role in projects, including the ability to provide guidance and direction to less experienced technical personnel
  • Ability to perform complex engineering analysis and calculations in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage priorities and scale activities to meet the needs of development efforts of varying size and complexity#LI-JM1
