SummaryThe Tax Accountant is responsible for maintaining tax compliance for the Company’s indirect taxes by filing returns and addressing notices on a timely basis.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze monthly sales and use tax activity and file corresponding tax returnsAssist with sales and use tax auditsFile personal property returns for the Company’s various locationsCalculate and file franchise tax returns for the Company’s various entitiesTrack monthly tax compliance activity via the company’s tax calendarManaging the business license annual updatesResearch taxability of transactions for operational and estimating staffFile gross receipts tax, value -added tax, and business occupational taxesAssist with filing various payroll reports including federal, state, local and Canadian filingsAssists with special projects and ad hoc analysisRequirementsB.S. in Accounting / Finance5+ years of experience in tax complianceExperience with indirect taxesExperience working with multiple legal entities and foreign currency a plusProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) lExperience with accounting systems such as JD Edwards ;Other Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to legally work in the United StatesMust be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug testMust be willing to work safelyGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSupervisory ResponsibilitiesLimited.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
