Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer

As the Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer , you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing supplier quality standards and ensuring the delivery of top-notch aerospace products.
In this role you will work on-site at our Sylmar, CA facility, collaborate with various teams, and report directly to the Supplier Development & Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an Approved Supplier List (ASL) through on-site audits and supplier qualification.
- Perform supplier assessments and production readiness assessments to find and address risks.
- Mentor suppliers in Continuous Improvement Management principles to optimize the supply chain.
- Conduct value stream and capacity analyses, proposing process improvements.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects such as Kaizen events.
- Lead cost reduction efforts and promote supply base consolidation.
- Support New Product Introduction by ensuring supplier capacity and capability.
- Collaborate with Receiving/ Inspection personnel and Quality/ Manufacturing Engineers for the proper disposition of incoming raw material (Material Review Board process).
- Issue & manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) for supplier nonconformances.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Three (3) or more years of related Quality, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering experience
- QMS Lead Auditor Certification preferred (ex. AS9100, ISO9001, IATF16949)
- Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Lean Manufacturing experience (SSGB preferred)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25% of the time)
- U.S. Citizen

Salary Range: $80,000 to $120,000 (depending on experience)
