Administers the company's quality program/system within a defined business operation of the organization. Has direct reports that implement and execute the policies and procedures of the business operations' quality program/system.
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
Essential tasks or functions that are fundamental to the job including,
Coordinates control plans, inspection systems, and action plans to achieve expected results
Monitors performance of individuals and processes and directs continual improvements as appropriate
Responsible for mentoring and development of team members
Supervision of nonconformance, containment and corrective action execution and metrics
Supervision of Gage & tool calibration maintenance
Supervision of Internal Audit Program
Chair the Management Review Meeting
Coordinate and host ISO 9001:2008 audits
Coordinate orientation, education and training in ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) and related processes including strategic and tactical quality system planning
Requirements
Education
Post-secondary education (engineering degree preferred) or equivalent work experience
Experience
Required: Minimum 3 years Quality Engineer/Analyst, Quality Specialist experience or equivalent
Preferred: 6 Sigma Green Belt, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Supervisory knowledge, skills and experience, Professional Engineering designation.
Qualifications
Understanding of ISO9001:2008 QMS requirements
Knowledge of inspection systems and standards
Strong facilitation, leadership and motivational skills
Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) and training delivery skills
Process management and continual improvement skills
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and Quality tools (e.g. 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.)
Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE), or agreed on Professional Development Plan to achieve certification (ASQ preferred but other comparable regional certifications accepted).
