Description
The Human Resources Generalist supports the Director of HR in all aspects of managing the daily duties including designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining human resources programs, policies, and procedures. Performing HR Daily programs including employee relations, compensation, benefits, onboarding, and training. This position requires and individual that excels in leadership and is a team player. The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with marina Managers and Central Service ("CS") Leaders on performance management, including development and disciplinary action.
  • Construct, review, and assist in construction of Corrective Action documentation and Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Work with Managers and CS Leaders in determination of involuntary terminations, making sure they adhere to Safe Harbor policies as well as all labor laws.
  • Meet with Teammates in listening and resolving potential grievances.
  • Assist Managers and CS Leaders with the administration of annual performance reviews for teammates, and make sure they adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations/laws, in addition to ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other.
  • Ensure SHMs Employee Handbook and policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Process onboarding of new teammates, including preparation of offer letters, background checks and e-E-Verify.
  • Work with Teammates (current and former) and Managers on inquiries related to HR needs or concerns.
  • Primary point of contact to at least 400 Teammates (regionally), but able to support all Teammates of SHM.
  • Train new Managers with HR related tasks, as well as SHMs HRIS, UKG.
  • Guide Teammates on use of UKG and other HRIS Programs.
  • Partner with other HR Teams: Payroll, Benefits, Teammate Development, Recruitment to ensure Teammates' needs are met and addressed.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical and Physical Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3-4 years' relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel (3-4 times per year)
  • UKG experience a plus
  • SHRM certification a plus
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
