Summary Description

The Software Product Manager role is crucial in advancing our mission by leading and guiding the development, strategy, and software lifecycle management of RE Tech’s building performance improvement product. The Product Manager works with cross-functional teams (Development, Marketing, Customer Success, Business Development, etc.) to ensure the product meets client objectives and is successful in the marketplace.

With your expertise, creativity, and commitment, you will contribute directly to creating a sustainable future for our planet by providing our clients with a product to monitor and improve the ESG performance of their commercial real estate portfolios.

Essential Job Functions / Job Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Drive and contribute towards the creation and implementation of software product strategy and product roadmaps.
  2. Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of software releases.
  3. Gather and analyze user feedback, market data, and industry trends to inform product improvements and innovation.
  4. Execute and develop a competitive analysis through researching competitive solutions and documenting their relative strengths and weaknesses.
  5. Manage and contribute to documentation of requirements, epics, and user stories for new releases of our offerings.
  6. Proficiency with SDLC management tools such as Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
  7. Understanding of underlying architecture, technologies & tools (JavaScript, SQL, .NET, APIs, Alteryx, Tableau) to properly inform product decisions and functionality.
  8. Ensure the quality and performance of software product through rigorous testing, monitoring, and optimization.
  9. Work to support the Marketing and Business Development Team with technical content to better promote and position our product in the market.
  10. Drive user adoption and awareness, assist in go-to-market strategies, product messaging, and marketing plans.
  11. Collect and document input from RE Tech users, customers, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and requirements.

Required Education And/or Experience
  1. 3+ years in a software product management role, with emphasis on leading cross-team collaboration.
  2. Experience supporting sustainability, ESG, climate, energy and/or decarbonization programs or products.
  3. Experience leading cross-functional teams to design product solutions.
  4. Experience defining projects, driving requirements, writing functional specs, and coordinating projects.
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage competing priorities.

Travel Requirements
Periodic travel is required for the role, including travel to RE Tech offices (Fairfax VA and Dallas, Texas) for meetings (estimate of four times per year), as well as for Legence and/or client business needs.
