Job Description
A Brokerage CSR will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department.
- Transfer customs declaration information from documents, or other sources into the customs entry system to allow for the build of a valid customs declaration.
- Track and Trace international shipments.
- Ensure smooth, accurate, and timely submission of US Customs entries to obtain timely clearance of cargo from US Customs and Participating Government Agencies.
- Timely dispatch of freight to truckers and coordinate delivery.
- Ensure accurate and timely client and service provider billing.
- Identify and manage exceptions while identifying opportunities for continual improvement in processes.
- Understand all the elements of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer’s instructions and expectations.
- Ensure compliance at all times by following government regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Customs Brokerage Experience with good knowledge of brokerage process and interactions with government agencies preferred.
- Experience working with truckers, terminals, forwarders, and carriers preferred.
- Driven and motivated to continue a career in international logistics.
- Must be able to work out of the El Paso office.
- High School Degree or equivalent required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa.
- Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department's needs.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, preferred.
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with 10-key usage.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Willing to pitch in and help on last-minute projects or assist team members.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability.
- Comfortable working in a professional business environment.
- Proven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies.
- Successful candidates must pass a background check.
Desired Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree Preferred.
- Customs Brokerage License or actively pursuing.
- Customs Brokerage Experience with good knowledge of brokerage process and interactions with government agencies.
