Job Description

A Brokerage CSR will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department.

  • Transfer customs declaration information from documents, or other sources into the customs entry system to allow for the build of a valid customs declaration.
  • Track and Trace international shipments.
  • Ensure smooth, accurate, and timely submission of US Customs entries to obtain timely clearance of cargo from US Customs and Participating Government Agencies.
  • Timely dispatch of freight to truckers and coordinate delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely client and service provider billing.
  • Identify and manage exceptions while identifying opportunities for continual improvement in processes.
  • Understand all the elements of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer’s instructions and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance at all times by following government regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of Customs Brokerage Experience with good knowledge of brokerage process and interactions with government agencies preferred.
  • Experience working with truckers, terminals, forwarders, and carriers preferred.
  • Driven and motivated to continue a career in international logistics.
  • Must be able to work out of the El Paso office.
  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa.
  • Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department's needs.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, preferred.
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with 10-key usage.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willing to pitch in and help on last-minute projects or assist team members.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability.
  • Comfortable working in a professional business environment.
  • Proven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree Preferred.
  • Customs Brokerage License or actively pursuing.
  • Customs Brokerage Experience with good knowledge of brokerage process and interactions with government agencies.
