Test Technician
First Shift, 7AM-3PM Monday through Friday
Irvine, CA-92618
The ideal candidate will significant (5+ yrs) experience demonstrating success in component hardware analysis or root cause analysis required preferably in aircraft systems.
The Investigation Technician III under general supervision provides technical test support and investigation to the component level of all IFE equipment for the Product Engineering Team as needed and as directed by management.
1.Ability to learn new programs, and processes and be responsible for correctly implementing them in daily tasks.
2.Responds to internal customer technical requests quickly, accurately, and clearly.
3.Troubleshoots to make timely, clear, and accurate recommendations in both oral and written form to internal customers, peers, and management, and, and recommendations to P2 engineers for determination of support strategy.
4.Using technical expertise and a degree of autonomy to determine root cause, when possible, of tested issues to component level and make recommendations to correct issues.
5.Ability to follow Product engineer directions or Product support engineer P2 or PSE to perform full root cause investigations, technical validations and independently follow through process to completion if required.
6.Maintain and / improve product reliability at or above predicted goals by proactively identifying issues whenever possible.
7.Provide regular oral and written review of investigation results, analysis, and suggestions for product improvements if appropriate.
8.Provide technical validation regarding replacement part testing or other validation/analysis as needed upon request.
9.Identify product performance issues at system, hardware, and software level.
  1. Develop and maintain adequate metrics to monitor performance.
  1. Follow established processes and support improvements in processes as directed.

Skills:
  1. Heavy soldering on multilevel PC boards to attach and remove components without harming board in any way.
2.Read and interpret documents such as schematic, technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  1. Be an independent, worker capable of listening, understanding, challenging, deciding, coordinating, and following-up who also works as a supportive team member.
  1. Dedicated to continuous improvement (quality, cost, Reliability).
  1. Skilled in Electronic Engineering (engineering, service) with 5+ years hands on experience of board level analysis to the component level.
  1. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, required. Project, PowerPoint, desired.

Willing to participate in presentations of his work to clarify detail when needed.
  1. Be a self-starter who can give and accept direction appropriately.
  1. Capable of prioritizing and balancing multiple complex tasks at once with ease

Ability to solve multiple complex electrical problems quickly and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to lead Investigations ( chronic(chronic, reliability ...) using experience and technical knowledge to guide a balanced and effective approach through to resolution.
