**Job Title:** RN Float Pool Nurse
**Job Specialty:** ICU
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Every Other Weekend + 4th Shift Per Month)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 34.50
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting; 2 years of critical care/tele experience
**License:** New York State RN License
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS
**Must-Have:** 2 years minimum ICU float pool experience, EPIC experience highly preferred
**Job Description:**
- Provide safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to patients and their significant others.
- Deliver patient care through the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and the application of the nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in care management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and post-hospital care planning.
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, effectively allocating material resources.
- Role model the principles of Relationship Centered Care through actions like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional standards.
- Participate in quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate resource needs with clinical leaders.
- Document nursing practice accurately in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal standards.
- Contribute to an environment supporting clinical colleagues, patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Advance clinical competence and project a professional image in communication and practice.
**Education:** Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.
