Our client is seeking a career focused supply chain professional for a Procurement Analyst position. This is a full time, in-office position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Performs purchasing and buying activities. Contacts vendors and suppliers, places orders and issues purchase order documentation. Places orders for stock or custom order items to meet orders from customers. Processes drop-ship purchase orders and releases.


Follow up on existing purchase orders for accurate ship and delivery dates. Expedite or push back orders accordingly. Communicate order status of custom merchandise to Sales Representative (s).


Monitors inventory levels to align with defined goals and performs inventory control measures.


Places re-orders to maintain established levels.


Responsible for new item set up and master data maintenance for approximately 500 SKUs.


Contacts vendors and negotiates pricing for new products and interacts with marketing for distribution of prices to the sales team.


Responsible for maintaining and negotiating competitive pricing with suppliers.


Responsible for negotiating and implementing price changes from vendors on existing items. Interacts with the sales and marketing team to ensure timely notification to customers.


Works extensively with the sales team to source vendors and establish competitive pricing for new items and projects. Arranges for samples of new items for testing and coordinates delivery to customer.


Reviews all vendor price changes for validity and communicates with inside sales and the General Manager for customer notification and system updating on a regular basis.


Contacts vendors and suppliers to obtain price quotes. Negotiates with vendors to obtain best value pricing. Forwards pricing data to General Manager for review and sales margin.


Coordinates with warehouse staff to resolve damaged goods with vendors.


Moves or handles lightweight items on a frequent basis. Tasks require moderate to frequent movement throughout the office and warehouse and manual dexterity to operate computers and office equipment.


Participant in Food Safety & Quality training and program.


In the event of General Manager absence, requests SQF related documentation from vendors and manufacturers as needed.


Performs other duties as needed to meet customer needs.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field preferably supplemented by advanced training in purchasing and inventory control. Accounting experience is a plus.

Possess extensive analytical skills

Possess experience in plastic resin commodity markets, preferably in the packaging or food industry.

5-10 years’ experience in procurement and inventory management preferably related to packaging products within a distribution environment.

Possess superior communication, negotiation and organizational skills.

Microsoft Office -Excel, Word and Powerpoint (Intermediate Level)

Experience with Sage 100 software is a plus.
