Legal Assistant


Location: Encino, California

Salary: $70K to $90K per year annually, along with Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Time and Holidays, Healthcare, Dental and Vision Coverage, 401k

Position: Full-time, Onsite, Direct Hire


LHH is working with a reputable firm in seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support their busy law firm in Encino, California. This is a fully onsite position offering a competitive salary of $70K to $90K, with a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably in plaintiff's personal injury, and a strong ability to manage tasks independently while working as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support multiple attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks
  • Interact with clients via phone, email, and in-person
  • Prepare legal documents such as complaints, discovery, motions, and agreements
  • Assist with case research, trial prep, and information gathering
  • Conduct legal research using databases and publications
  • File court documents and manage filings with government agencies
  • Communicate with court officials, opposing counsel, and clients
  • Help prepare for arbitration, depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Manage incoming/outgoing phone calls, mail, and correspondence
  • Draft and finalize legal letters and documents
  • Manage attorneys' calendars, schedule meetings, and maintain organized files


Job Requirements:

  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in plaintiff’s personal injury law
  • Familiar with pre-litigation and intake processes (client interviews, claims, property damage, medical care coordination)
  • Knowledge of court filing procedures is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe; experience with ProLaw, Dragon, Speech Exec is a plus
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive with excellent follow-up
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a team
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
  • Willing to train candidates with strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a positive attitude
