RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review tax returns, provisions, work papers involving some complexity and significant cost.
- Participate in tax planning/analysis/audit projects under guidance of senior or principal/manager.
- Researchand advises customer/suppliers at middle management and staff level on tax issues.
- Identify and reports to manager/principal tax savings ideas as they arise in the compliance process.
- Support other compliance/planning activities of Manager/Principals as required.
- Complete returns, provisions, work-papers in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
- Contribute to successful conclusion of tax projects through application of developing tax research and analytical skills reflecting knowledge of the business as well as tax law and procedure.
- Develop relationships with suppliers/customers/government officials to further tax and business objectives and more efficient accurate compliance process.
- Research results reflecting thorough analysis of facts and issues expected of a tax professional, presented in concise, thorough, yet understandable manner.
- Implementtax savings ideas improving corporate cash flow or earnings.
- Contribute to tax compliance/accounting process improvements including use of technology to improve performance.
- Pursue external "networking" and professional development.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree
- 2 years of experience as a tax professional
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or MBA, MST
- Experience working for a large corporation or clientele
- CPA
- Experience with Property Tax, Sales andUse or State Tax - highly preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Hybrid role
- Onsite in Detroit headquarters 3 days a week
