Summary The incumbent will serve as a Program Analyst, with the facility title of Program/Data Analyst organizationally aligned to the Planning and Analytic Service, Office of the Associate Medical Center Director at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center The Program/Data Analyst position supports health system decision-making, clinical informatics, and management functions by supporting executive, clinical, and administrative information needs, designing projects or studies. Responsibilities Major Duties included, but are not limited to: Providing planning and analysis support to facility leadership for development and implementation of strategic, tactical and operational plans. Performing sophisticated data analysis, including extracting data from internal and external databases, analyzing and interpreting complex data using basic statistical models, and designing and preparing user-friendly reports. Conducting independent research to develop an in-depth understanding of VA databases and data sources in order to retrieve and validate data and translate generally defined customer requirements into data analytics logic. Independently gathers, develops, and interprets data from available information systems. Based on data analysis and interpretation, prepares executive level reports and presentations incorporating data mined into useful visual information and statistical reporting to assist the organization in strategic management and executive decisions. Utilizing a variety of project management tools to ensure project scope, costs and schedule are achieved. Organizing work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
