Job DescriptionJOB PURPOSE/ FUNCTIONThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine wastewater analysis for process control as directed by the Lead Operator.Salary range - $25-$35/hr depending on level of experience.RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms routine wastewater analysis for process control as directed by the Lead Operator such as:Chemical oxygen demand (COD)Analysis of BOD5Suspended and total solids, volatile solids, ammoniaTotal kjedahl nitrogen (TKN)pHConductivityProcess jar testingThe operations of the Atomic Absorption analysis equipmentUnderstands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functionsQUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures and safe practicesPrevious water or wastewater treatment experienceEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years of formal training and experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNonePHYSICAL DEMANDSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functionsAn Equal Opportunity Employer.
