Ventek Solutions, headquartered on Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina, is a newly established entity following its acquisition by Black Diamond Capital Management (BDCM) from Sonoco Corporation. Ventek operates across 8 manufacturing facilities located in the US and Mexico. Our Mission is to be the premier foam molder and integrated solutions provider in North America, serving a wide range of markets with molded foam components and protective packaging, including returnable and integrated material solutions.
Ventek Solutions seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to join a high-performing growing team who will work with cross-functional leaders to develop proper understanding of product level costs and drive profit maximization across the enterprise. This position will report to the Global Controller and will be based in Charleston, SC. Highly qualified candidates within close proximity of any of our U.S. locations will be considered for a remote role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Establish and control reporting for item level costing, including material, direct labor, freight, and overhead allocation per item and work with business unit leaders to understand these factors impacts on costs/margins.
- Analyze cost fluctuations and inventory adjustments to provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Develop and maintain plant level allocations and work with business leaders to help educate the plant teams on the factors impacting plan profitability.
- Maintain and update cost standards in the accounting systems.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Collaborate with department heads to set and track budgetary goals.
- Analyze and report on actual-to-budget performance.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation processes.
- Work closely with operations to reconcile physical inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
- Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare schedules for audits and support external auditors.
- Process Improvement:
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering to provide cost visibility and drive financial performance improvements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA or active pursuit of certification preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. , IDEAS, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional ability to think critically and make decisions based on data analysis.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with non-financial teams, presenting complex financial data in an understandable way.
- Ability to travel to various locations and plant sites as required.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
