Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Exhibits to join our leadership team and make a significant impact on STEM education and community engagement. This role is designed for an innovative leader with extensive experience in creating interactive exhibits that spark interest in STEM disciplines. You will play a crucial role in shaping our organization’s future, enhancing our stature as a premier science center, and inspiring future generations of STEM professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated team of exhibit professionals in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of interactive exhibits that resonate with our mission.
  2. Design open-ended exhibit experiences that encourage exploration, persistence, and collaboration, guiding families in their STEM journeys.
  3. Promote a culture of professional growth and open communication within your team, ensuring collaboration across departments to maximize the impact of our exhibits.
  4. Forge and strengthen partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholders, especially in collaboration with the Vice President of Education, to create cohesive educational experiences.
  5. Oversee a collaborative exhibit development process that includes educators, science communicators, and content specialists, focusing on innovation and evaluation.
  6. Engage in fundraising initiatives associated with exhibit development and revenue generation to support our mission.

Required Skills

  1. Proven expertise in developing engaging and interactive STEM exhibits.
  2. Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey our mission and educational initiatives.
  3. Strong leadership abilities to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  4. Experience in building audience-centric exhibits that inspire curiosity and learning.

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of ten years of experience in a museum or comparable environment, with a focus on STEM interactive exhibits and nonprofit management, including grant and budget oversight.
  2. At least five years of leadership experience demonstrating the ability to cultivate and inspire talent.
  3. Genuine commitment to our mission and vision, paired with a passion for science and education.
  4. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred, ideally in a scientific discipline.
  5. A proven track record of meeting strategic objectives and managing financial resources effectively.

  1. Annual salary is competitive, ranging from $108,000 to $120,000.
