Position Summary

Through complex negotiations and in-depth knowledge of products and services, the Account Director will initiate actions which maximize revenue, retain, and grow large client relationships, and effectively position our products and rate/fee levels with an emphasis on expanding the assigned book of business. The Account Director will also provide guidance, support, and strategic leadership among the service teams assigned to their book of business. The book of business that this position will support is for a large, complex public sector, school district account.

Fundamental Components:

  1. Act as senior strategic business partner to constituents to optimize the positioning of appropriate products and services and to attain profitability and membership objectives.
  2. Develop and execute the renewal process.
  3. Prepare clients for renewal by explaining cost drivers of benefit plan, offering solutions to reduce costs, and delivering renewal to clients and consultants.
  4. Formulate complex financial decision recommendations and present them to management.
  5. Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate internal partners.
  6. Ensure clients are kept informed of any regulatory issues and/or developing healthcare trends potentially impacting their benefits program strategy.
  7. Work with clients to ensure that any changes resulting from this activity are appropriately addressed within the context of their business needs and employee benefits strategy.
  8. Lead finalist presentations related to either new business or growth/cross-sell opportunities and serve as lead through RFP strategy and process.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with Benefits & Wellness team, School Board members, and benefits consultants.

Required Qualifications

  1. 5 – 10 years’ experience in Sales & Service Account Management.
  2. Complex negotiations experience.
  3. Sales administration, support, reporting.
  4. Strategy development.
  5. Current Life, Accident & Health License.
  6. Local Travel required (20%).
  7. Qualified candidates will be in or near Tampa, Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have prior experience in a client management role, demonstrated examples of owning/managing complex customer relationships, and an operations background. Ability to manage for profitable growth, anticipate and respond to marketplace trends; develop strategies that drive the business; demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivity; integrate financial, marketing, and strategic concepts.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $54,400.00 - $113,900.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
