Summary

The business line leader is responsible for driving profitable growth across his or her assigned business lines, creating and managing a focused commercial team, and collaborating with supporting functions on attainment of assigned profitability and revenue growth objectives. The BLL is expected to lead 80/20 efforts, demonstrate numeracy and disciplined problem solving, and be seen as a leader and champion of his/her business line throughout the organization.

Operation Outcomes

  • Attain or exceed the annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Manage and improve total employee costs and material margin
  • Develop appropriate product vitality goals and supporting new product development roadmaps
  • Create and supervise a focused, commercially oriented team with supporting business processes and cadence.
    • Identify, recruit, and develop talent to build long-term capabilities and success.
    • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Complement digital communication with periodic in-person meetings.
  • Actively manage team through consistent coaching, clear expectations and structured feedback.
Strategic Alignment Commitment and Results

  • Organize, document, and drive revenue growth activities with the commercial team and by collaborating closely with supporting functions.
  • Monitor and support inventory value reduction and turn improvement goals
  • Demonstrate commitment to 80/20 principles of segmentation, simplification, and zero-up. Champion of 80/20 activities and articulate and document strategic choices underlying customer and product segmentation, simplification, and zero-up activities.
  • Manage annual strategic planning process including analysis, executive presentations, and policy deployment
  • Develop, document, and promulgate actionable insight for the business line through trade association meetings, trade shows, customer interactions and sales team ride - alongs

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in identify and resolving issues and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Model concise speaking, documentation, and follow-on skills.
  • Identify and drive appropriate KPIs and TTIs.

  • Establish and drive organizational cadence; lead segment monthly business and 80/20 reviews and other meetings as you see fit.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize work or policies to facilitate smooth execution; lead policy /standard work development and documentation.

Decision Making Quality

  • Demonstrate numeracy and model data-driven decision making
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify areas of improvement and derive countermeasures.
  • Drive systemic collaboration within your team and across Arrowhead
  • Ensure that key decisions are appropriately vetted, explicitly consider other options, are well documented and implemented

Deliverables

  • Lead creation and delivery of monthly segment business review. Audience is your peers and group president.
  • Lead creation and delivery of monthly executive business review. The audience is C-suite executives
  • Lead creation and delivery of monthly executive 80/20 meetings
  • Participate in weekly 1:1s with group president. Standing topics - revenue attainment, key initiatives, general updates.
  • Facilitate periodic group updates with your team and EP leadership
  • Facilitate periodic review of 80/20 customer and product segmentation. Maintain a defined, documented cadence.
  • Documentation:
    • 80/20 program strategy and cadence
    • Pricing strategy and cadence
    • New product development strategy and cadence
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University and 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commission, and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Experience with order processing systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
