Sara Jacobs for Congress is seeking an ORGANIZING DIRECTOR for the 2022 campaign cycle to assist in our growing campaign. The Organizing Director will report to the Campaign Manager and manage one of the largest congressional organizing programs in Southern California. This is a full-time, paid position. The role is based out of San Diego, California.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive Field plan to engage volunteers, turn out voters, and win re-election in CA-51.
- Direct the day-to-day organizing operations for the campaign.
- Manage local organization partners and represent Sara Jacobs for Congress in key events across the District.
- Build team goals to hit overall voter contact targets, including setting deadlines, establishing key workflow, and managing on-time delivery of reports.
- Recruit, hire, and manage organizers, interns, fellows, community mobilizers, and volunteers.
- Help curate team culture, including planning team-building events and staff development opportunities.
- Reports to the Campaign Manager.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 cycles of Field organizing experience.
- Proven proficiency in VAN, miniVAN, and other organizing software.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to develop and manage a team of staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Access to cell phone, laptop, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to relocate to the district.
Location:
San Diego, ideally CA-51.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
- Salary of $4,500/month depending on experience and benefits.
