Salary: £150 - £200 Per Annum
Hours: Full Time

Job Requirements / Description

Richards, Watson & Gershon (“RWG”) invites candidates with 2+ years of public law experience to apply for a position representing public agencies in our San Francisco office. RWG’s attorneys regularly advise cities, counties, special districts, and joint powers authorities across California with all aspects of public law including cutting edge topics such as land use and CEQA, housing, police and fire, environmental law, elections, contract drafting, and governmental transparency.

Past experience handling land use and CEQA matters is highly desirable, but not a requirement. A successful RWG attorney will, with appropriate mentoring and training, advise City Councils, Planning Commissions, or other governing boards at public meetings and deal constructively with the public, so presence, an accessible communications style, and self-confidence are essential.

Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, current California Bar membership, superior research and writing skills, and a commitment to collaboration on worthwhile work for the benefit of the public. A sense of humor and commitment to teamwork is highly valued.

The annual salary range for this California-based role is $141,600–$195,000, and represents the Firm’s best estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation offered will depend upon a number of factors including, but not limited to: years of experience, experience or specialty with relevant subject matters, and business origination. In addition to salaried compensation, the Firm provides annual discretionary and billable hours bonuses, and a robust offering of health insurance, 401k, professional development, and other benefits.
