CDPH works with communities and partners to create an equitable, safe, resilient and Healthy Chicago
Under supervision, assists professional and paraprofessional medical personnel in the administration of medical services at a community health clinic; and performs related duties as required.
Essential Duties:
  • Screen and schedule appointments in ECM.
  • Patient registration in ECM/EMR and 4Medica.
  • Obtain patient's medical history/health information when caring for Fast Track patients.
  • Order lab test in 4Medica. Obtain blood specimens, label and pack the specimens.
  • Able to identify risk patient for Isolation and follow clinic Isolation process i.e., place patients in Isolation Exam Room, inform clinician of patient isolation condition, clean Isolation area after patient is discharged.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate amount of medical and clinical supplies.
  • Perform monthly supply inventory and replenish supplies in exam rooms.
  • Follow-up abnormal lab results.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, eligibility verification, scanning, giving lab results via phone or in person and filing.
  • Aware of time and attendance requirements.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional communication and working relationships with other staff.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and educational training.

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or one year of experience performing medical assistant duties as described above.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
  • Valid Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Previous experience working in a Public Health environment.
  • Medical billing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online databases.
  • Highest level of education successfully completed.
