The Lead, Storage and Backup Administrator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of UCSF storage and backup systems. The Lead will provide senior expertise to the Storage and Backup team in executing daily operations, including installing, configuring, and operating storage and backup systems, as well as migration of storage solutions to the cloud. The Lead, Storage and Backup Administrator will coordinate partnership with a broad range of customers, partners, and key University stakeholders to provide best-in-class storage and backup solutions.
This role will drive the designing, provisioning, monitoring, upgrading, and capacity planning for the storage and backup environment, as well as provide technical expertise for day-to-day operations, ensuring optimized performance and compliance with data security and University policies. The Lead, Storage and Backup Administrator will manage urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations, coordinating implementation plans, and being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved. The Lead also assists in the implementation of storage and backup policies and solutions aligned with the broad Platform Services goals.
The Lead, Storage and Backup Administrator will positively impact UCSF's operations and culture by ensuring UCSF's IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of the University's mission. The Lead will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across customers and stakeholders. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Our placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $132,400 - $198,600 (Annual Rate).
