Job Requirements / Description
The SCM Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for Company. They will manage competitive sourcing events to include acquisition planning, sourcing strategies, market research, evaluating suppliers and negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules. Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices. Meet with internal stakeholders to discuss requirements, contractor performance, unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective actions. Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure suppliers comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and to determine the need for changes. This is a challenging and rewarding job that requires strong analytical and negotiation skills. A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field and 5-10 years of procurement experience is required. Ariba or other sourcing tools and Federal Procurement is preferred.
