We rise above industry standards when every associate embraces their unique role and seizes the opportunity to make an impact.The Private Equity Fund Accountant requires a highly motivated professional with demonstrated private equity accounting experience to apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform month-end closing and prepare financial statements using the GAAP consolidation and equity methods of accounting for private equity funds/portfolios.Prepare and/or support quarterly investor reporting, recurring and ad hoc investor-specific reports, and investor presentations.Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.Prepare and/or support capital calls, draw requests, distributions, and acquisition/disposition analyses.Calculate performance metrics for private equity funds/portfolios, and maintain investor-specific capital account and accrued preferred return waterfall calculations.Assist external accounting firms with requests to ensure timely completion of audits and tax returns.Translate operating agreements into actionable responsibilities related to calculating appropriate fees, meeting deadlines, creating and preparing required reports, and determining appropriate lead time on capital calls or notifications.Additional duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be proficient with MS office, including ExcelKnowledge of consolidation and equity method of accountingStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredStrong analytical skills with the ability to communicate results effectivelyMust demonstrate ability to successfully work on a team, whether in office or remoteMust be resourceful, well organized and able to work in a fast-paced environmentYardi Voyager software experience a plusWorkiva software experience a plusAbility to demonstrate the Bell Core ValuesEducation and Background4-year degree in Accounting or Master of Accounting2-5 years of accounting experience (private equity experience a plus)CPA certification preferred2+ years’ experience at a public accounting firm preferredAbout Bell PartnersOur purpose at Bell Partners is to create communities our residents are proud to call home.
