The Florida Department of Health also provides specialized assistance to pregnant women, infants, and children with special health care needs, regulates health care practitioners, and provides medical disability determinations.Lab Technician IV:The Laboratory Technician IV performs laboratory duties and will work in the Specialty Care Center. The employee in this position works within the Laboratory section and the clinic function and has knowledge and skills in the daily performance of laboratory procedures. Has good rapport with staff and clients, positive attitude, is flexible, approachable and accepts change readily as evidenced by lack of substantiated complaints/ confrontations with staff and clients. Promotes the department as a positive, caring community organization through courteous behavior toward all clients and co-workers. Adheres to established Health Department policies and procedures.This is an independent position requiring a leadership, decision making and overall general knowledge of laboratory functions including but not limited to: phlebotomy, lab processes, procedures, tubes, and specimen collection procedures, supplies and understanding clinic flow.
