Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining laptop workstations, printers, operating systems, applications, and associated services.
  • Monitoring system performance and proactively troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal system and network availability.
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, email, and security settings.
  • Collaborating with team members to identify and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Evaluating, recommending, and implementing software and hardware upgrades.
  • Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with established standards.
  • Running workstation security scans and troubleshooting quarantine issues.
  • Providing timely technical support to end-users, addressing technical issues and inquiries.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to enhance the organization's IT infrastructure.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience and Qualifications:

  • CompTIA S+ certification.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
  • Experience with government networks and administration a plus (e.g., RDTE, NMCI).
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Other relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, etc.) are advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and concepts.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with users and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to adapt and learn quickly in a constantly evolving IT landscape.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
