Opportunity Overview : Senior Procurement Technical Specialist - Diablo Canyon
This is a contract role with a duration of approximately 12-16 months, through the end of 2025. Work is expected to be completed at customer's site (Diablo Canyon) near San Luis Obispo, California.
As a Senior Procurement Technicial Specialist you will be responsible for providing solutions to challenges associated with commercial nuclear power plant systems and components.
Our civil nuclear business provides nuclear reactor vendors and utility operators with integrated, long-term support services and solutions spanning the whole reactor lifecycle, from concept design through to obsolescence management and plant-life extension. Safety-critical systems have been supplied to around 50% of the global nuclear power plants in service and we've been a key player in the nuclear industry for more than 50 years.
What your day-to-day looks like:
- Review, create, and submit engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with a multi-discipline team while driving to improve group capability on existing and new Nuclear Power Plant Technology.
- Contribute to multiple customer business units outside of immediate area.
- Working within project constraints to meet project delivery deadlines.
Current opportunity:
- Perform Procurement Specialist role by implementing item equivalencies, and similar engineering evaluations, within the customer's enterprise system(s) to facilitate purchasing.
- Procurement Specialists complete technical tasks which include, but are not limited to, creating & updating material masters, purchase requisitions, and bills of materials.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Expected to operate independently, efficiently solve difficult & sometimes complex problems, review team members deliverables, and provide coaching as required.
- Duration is approximately 12-16 months, through the end of 2025. Work is expected to be completed at customer's site near San Luis Obispo, California.
What we need to see from you:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical / mechanical / technical engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant Commercial Nuclear Power Plant experience
- In lieu of Degree, 12+ years of Commercial Nuclear Power Plant experience
- Previously and/or currently qualified to utility Procurement Engineering Program
- To be considered for this opportunity you must be eligible to receive and maintain unescorted security clearance at a Commercial Nuclear Facility which requires US Citizenship
- Preferred: Prior unescorted security clearance authorization to work onsite at a Commercial Nuclear Facility
