**Job Description:**
- Specialize in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.
- May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties as required.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
- Review clinical data on requisition and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional patient history when necessary.
- Prepare procedure rooms and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structure of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
- Manually control equipment to obtain diagnostic information from the studied body area.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, monitor for possible reactions, and provide immediate care if necessary.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for procedures as needed, ensuring adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
- Assist radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Perform all imaging procedures following radiation protection principles, including shielding patients and selecting appropriate equipment settings.
- Resolve any image exceptions and ensure high quality image delivery into PACS, including viewing images and confirming series counts.
- Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
- Review and confirm clinical protocols with a radiologist before performing studies.
- Demonstrate Team member standards of excellence consistently, including open communication and fostering innovation.
- Perform all necessary documentation in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
**Physical Demands/Working Conditions:**
- May work in a hospital with a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment if proper precautions are not utilized.
- May work with potentially contagious patients.
- Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 lbs.
