We are seeking an experienced Industrial-Organizational Psychologist to join our team. This role will focus on consulting with various businesses within Blue Origin and developing a strategy for applying pre-employment testing or screening. The person will either develop the solutions from scratch or, if applicable, use an off-the-shelf solution from a vendor. As part of this work, the person will complete necessary requirements gathering, technical review, and documentation of all work done (e.g., competency models or job analysis work). The ideal candidate will also have consulting experience, as they will be required to work closely with customers to gather requirements and communicate solutions in a way that allows for customers to determine tradeoffs. The candidate must also work closely with a technical team to provide requirements and work through any complications. Lastly, the candidate must know how to create professional technical reports to document all work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Employment Testing:
- Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to identify key competencies for various roles.
- Determine roles that could benefit the most from pre-employment testing or screening methods.
- Design reliable and valid solutions tailored to the specific needs of Blue Origin.
- Work with external vendors to apply solutions that meet the organization's need.
- Vendor Management:
- Maintain relationships with external vendors who provide custom and standard testing or screening solutions.
- Ensure vendor compliance with Blue Origin's standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor vendor performance and conduct periodic reviews to ensure service quality.
- Consulting and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to HR and other internal partners on assessment-related matters.
- Provide training and support to hiring managers on the implementation and interpretation of screening or assessment tools.
- Facilitate feedback sessions to refine and improve testing processes.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze assessment data to determine effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Apply data analytics to continuously improve testing processes and tools.
- Research Projects:
- Conduct research projects, such as capturing quality of hire, to inform and improve hiring practices.
- Assist the HR analytics team with research projects and data analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Blue Origin's talent acquisition strategies.
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure all assessment practices align with relevant legal and professional standards, including EEOC and OFCCP guidelines.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in psychometric testing and selection processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a role with a focus on pre-employment testing and assessment.
- Strong proficiency in at least one statistical software package or language (e.g., SPSS, R, Python).
- Proven experience in applying both custom and off-the-shelf pre-employment tests.
- Strong vendor management skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships and deliver projects on time.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, including EEOC and OFCCP guidelines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using SQL during research projects.
- Experience as a Human Capital consultant.
- Experience in the Aerospace or Technology Industry.
Compensation Range for WA applicants: $151,109.25-$211,552.95
Other site ranges may differ.
