Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the purchasing of services and supplies necessary for operating the organization, including machinery, equipment, tools, and raw materials.
- Partner with the Coatings and Sealants, Sales and S&T teams to identify, support and manage material availability to meet production needs.
- Support PPG's Coatings and Sealants Science and Technology Labs when supplier issues arise and implement resolutions.
- Attend required meetings with suppliers and partners, to support our needs and continuity of supply chain.
- Communicate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing regarding inventory levels.
- Review proposals for price, delivery time, and quality, and select suppliers accordingly.
- Institute and promote cost reduction projects.
- Direct the purchasing function, including managerial and administrative responsibilities and authorize purchase orders.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years in a lead, supervisory, or managerial role in Supply Chain, Production Purchasing, or related experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline required.
- Experience in business process analysis, lean and six sigma, quality assurance, strategic sourcing, team facilitation, materials management, QAD, ERP (e.g., SAP), and cost reduction strategies preferred.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Salary Range: $95,000-$120,000 Depending on experience.
