Position Information Job Title Education Coordinator Department Trio Programs - 25090 Pay Grade 8 Job Category Administrative Job Summary Change lives through education as the Education Coordinator! Do you enjoy helping others reach their full potential through learning? This role supports adults in exploring new careers and advancing their education.
You will coordinate engaging programs and services that empower participants to achieve their goals. Guide individuals through the financial aid process and assist with applications. Recruit new program members and help connect them with invaluable resources. Collaborate closely with colleges, organizations, and mentors. Build strong relationships that open doors of opportunity. Ensure all receive comprehensive guidance and support on their educational journeys. Planning, developing, and executing customized programs is key. Get creative in addressing each person’s unique needs. Execute initiatives from the grant with passion and care.

The main EOC office is located at the ETSU at Kingsport Allandale Center. This position will primarily work in Carter, Johnson, Washington, and Unicoi counties.
*This position is contingent on grant funding.

  • Knowledge of applicable TRIO Program and governing regulations and guidelines (Federal, State, Local).
  • Knowledge of university admissions and financial aid guidelines and procedures.
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies to successfully meet the needs of Historical Excluded Groups (HEGs).
  • Knowledge of administration and organization of secondary school systems.
  • Knowledge of the delivery of educational outreach programs.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to assess and provide counseling/guidance to HEGs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with school administration and counselors.
  • Ability to communicate and write effectively.
  • Ability to develop and execute educational outreach programs.
  • Ability to learn and use developing technologies to support the program’s mission.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in the delivery of services in an educational outreach program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, school counseling, human services, social work, or education-related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Five (5) years of experience working in college admissions, financial aid, college access, or career exploration.
  • TRIO work experience
