Akebia is looking for a strategic, mission-oriented, and collaborative Senior Marketing Product Manager to be an integral part of an innovative, performance-driven Marketing team. The Senior Marketing Product Manager position will join the team that launches Vafseo and drives business objectives for ongoing commercial activities with Auryxia. This marketing role contributes to sales success and revenue goals by developing and implementing impactful marketing strategy and tactics.

This position will serve as an important member of the commercial team driving strategic and tactical marketing initiatives. The Senior Marketing Product Manager will partner closely with the Field Sales Team, Sales Training, Commercial Analytics, Franchise Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs colleagues in order to successfully develop and implement marketing programs and initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop health care professional (HCP) promotional materials and patient education materials.
  • Lead digital initiatives including websites, paid search, and media plans for promoted brands.
  • Participate in planning for and execution of marketing tactics at sales meetings.
  • Manage brand presence at relevant meetings and congresses.
  • Navigate tactics through Promotional Review Committee with legal, regulatory, and medical affairs.
  • Solicit feedback on tactics by leading field sales Commercial Advisory Team.
  • Participate in development of annual brand plan.

Skills:

  • Able to analyze and interpret market data and apply insights to marketing plans/tactics.
  • Skilled at managing projects and processes on time and within established budget.
  • Proficient in identifying market research needs, commissioning studies, and leveraging insights.
  • Capable of working independently, efficiently, and effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Able to work within a highly regulated promotional environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Successful at building relationships in cross-functional teams and with agency partners.
  • Capable of directing work of agency partners to develop tactics on time and within budget.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in pharmaceutical marketing; experience in the renal category a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of HCP or patient product management experience.

Work Environment: This is a hybrid role (2 days minimum) out of our Cambridge MA office. Up to 15% travel to attend sales meetings, customer visits, and relevant medical meetings/congresses within the U.S.
