Company Overview:

We are a leading building material wholesale distributor, 100% Employee Owned (ESOP), with eleven locations across the Southern US. Our headquarters is in Savannah, Georgia. We are seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department and drive our people strategies.

Role Overview:

As the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, safety, training, and compliance. You will play a crucial role in shaping the HR strategy and ensuring it aligns with the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Oversee recruitment and selection processes to ensure the timely hiring of qualified candidates.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Administer employee safety and benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Create and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, and stay updated on changes.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR management, business administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive HR experience, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (DOT, OSHA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization.
  • Proven experience in recruitment and selection, including interviewing and talent assessment.
  • Professional HR certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Occasional travel to various company locations required.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
