**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years in ER
**License:** Required for submission
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS

**Job Description:**
- Looking for staff willing to cross-train to cover charge occasionally in a smaller ER.
- The department has 21 beds/trauma bays and operates with patient ratios of 1:4.
- The unit handles all age groups with common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, cough/congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, sepsis, and stroke.
- Common drips include antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, vaccines, and emergency medications.
- A Charge Nurse is present on each shift and takes assignments.
- Shifts are 12 hours: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a. Scheduling is managed by ED leadership based on needs.
- Requires working every other weekend and fulfilling holiday requirements.
- The ER will transfer patients to other facilities as needed, due to fewer specialty resources.
- Initial orientation consists of 12 hours spread over 2 shifts.
- Successful nurses in this unit are kind, compassionate caregivers with a positive, energetic approach.
- Charting is done using the EPIC system.
