The individual will be responsible for overseeing the technical and clinical education of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Abbott Field teams in pursuit of the business unit’s overall strategy and goals.This position operates on a global scale, necessitating an understanding of procedural nuances worldwide to proactively lead a team to develop streamlined training programs and content that promote a unified curriculum and ensure a consistent training experience for all participants. The role involves aligning Abbott CRM regions on a cohesive global curriculum that minimizes modifications to facilitate uniform and structured training.Utilizing a fervent dedication to education and innovation, the candidate will employ the ADDIE framework (with instructional designers and technical leads) to identify educational needs and craft programs for new and existing products/therapies. The candidate will also use leadership skills, project management skills, agility, and creativity, to partner with R&D, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Clinical and other senior members of the CRM organization to lead the educational process across the entire Abbott CRM portfolio.THE STRATEGY YOU WILL LEADLead the vision, development, and deployment of a comprehensive and integrated, Global Training Curriculum for HCPs and Abbott Field teams that can be deployed in-person or virtuallyEngage with Global Education peers to identify and integrate cutting edge training technologies to enable world-class training experiencesPartner with R&D, Up/Downstream Marketing, and Global Education leaders on the development of training for new product launchesEnsure that new product launch training is integrated into existing training curriculumProvide leadership and vision for the integration of clinical and technical training for new hires and tenured team members with Sales Training activities by partnering with Commercial Excellence and Sales Training leaders to streamline the training for the learnerDrive consistent use of ADDIE for all educational development and integrate with established marketing processesPartner with Global Education peers to develop and deploy a single tracking systemTHE TEAM YOU WILL LEADManage a team of Trainers and Instructional Designers to develop training content and programs via the ADDIE process to train HCPs, new hires and upskill the fieldBuild and develop a team of highly skilled individuals to design and execute high quality, effective and engaging adult learningMotivate, influence, and lead a team to achieve common goals and objectives that consistently meets compliance and quality standardsLead a team that partners with Global Education peers via ADDIE to gain feedback on the development of training content and drive a cycle of continuous improvementAnticipate, identify, and resolve high-level problems associated with completing projects and executing programsFoster and drive a culture of best practices that leverages the latest technologies and tools and respects adult learning techniques and instructional design principlesTHE BUSINESS YOU WILL MANAGEDevelop and maintain cross-functional partnerships within R&D, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory to create highly effective training that is compliant and achieves business objectives and resultsOversee consistent educational effectiveness and positive trainee experiences by reviewing measures and driving a continuous improvement mindset based on dataPartner with Sales Training to develop and deliver a blended approach for new hires and tenured field teams and provide a platform and support to deploy Sales TrainingLead U.S. field training activities and oversee tracking U.S. field trainee training proficiency; work with U.S. Sales leadership in addressing learning gapsCollaborate with Global Education team peers and help the U.S. ProfEd team enable the efficient transfer of knowledge to U.S. HCPsManage an annual expense/cost center budgetAlign with peers in other divisions to position Abbott CRM at the forefront of training in the Medical Device industryComply with global regulations and requirements, company policy, operating procedures, processes, and task assignmentsBecome an expert within the designated therapy on trainee needs and keep current on developments in the field, specifically on product/therapy knowledge, market, and industry trendsEDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:RequiredBA/BS degree and 7+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of training and education programs OR Masters degree and 5+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of training and education programs.5+ years management: team oriented with experiencePreferredExperience leading the creation of education programs leveraging the ADDIE modelExperience leading education programs and a demonstrated ability to simplify and articulate complex topics effectivelyUnderstanding of CRM device therapy and Abbott’s CRM product portfolioFunctional understanding of R&D, Program Management and Marketing functionsAffinity for educating othersExperience creating multi-media, experiential rich content in blended learning/virtual environmentAbility to apply fundamental concepts to conduct needs assessment and design training programs to meet needsExcellent computer and software skills in graphics, word processing, authoring programs, etc. to develop presentation/training materialsAbility to work in highly matrixed organization and geographically diverse business environmentsAbility to work within a larger team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced dynamic environmentStrong communication, project management skills to accurately represent project status and deliverables to key stakeholders and managementAbility to resolve issues and meet project deadlinesApply Now ( who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
