What does the Talent Development team do?
A mix of traditional Human Resources and Talent Management, we're accountable for the recruiting, growth, and development of the organization across multiples states as well as Canada, and growing and supporting the culture at IMS. We manage employee relations, policy administration, talent acquisition and retention, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, learning & development, and performance management. The TD team handles all of the day-to-day people challenges of the organization, and implements new programs to move IMS forward as an organization through our people.

What's the opportunity?
The Talent Development Generalist is essential in supporting the business and the IMS warehouse facilities by collaborating with the management team to reach business goals and objectives, while advancing a positive company culture. Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • This role can be based in either Skokie, IL or Kenosha, WI, but will require 1 day per week in our Kenosha location
  • Serve as the a member of the Talent team, providing day-to-day guidance to management, and supporting management and associates with employee relations, recruiting and staffing, performance management, payroll, benefits, conflict resolution, and training and development
  • Manage new hire orientation and on-boarding for new associates; partner with IT and hiring teams to ensure a successful onboarding experience for new hires
  • Process new hire and term paperwork, merit increases and other administrative tasks
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, to include source and pre-screen candidates, coordinate interviews, conduct employment verifications and reference checks, extend offers
  • Manage FMLA/leave of absence/workers compensation process
  • Assist with facilitating payroll processing, including running payroll reports providing backup processing when needed
  • Work with local team to organize and plan company quarterly events and contribute to overall company culture
  • Other duties as assigned
The skills and experience you have
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a warehouse/manufacturing or marketing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written Spanish and English
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects/requests and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to learn new systems quickly and create improved efficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Limited travel to our Chicago-area headquarters is required in this role.
Not required, but will be considered:
  • Bachelor's degree; PHR or SHRM-CP certification
