The Radiation/Health & Safety Officer facilitates compliance by performing inspections and other tasks required of the organization's safety compliance programs; conducts radiation and general safety training for departments and teams, particularly those exposed to radiation sources; frequently travels to location to perform required duties; and assists with maintaining all regulatory compliance records.

Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees.
- Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations and regulatory requirements in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare of workers, including statutory training and reporting.
- Conducts safety meetings & necessary training, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
- Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, recommended improvements and corrective actions are implemented.
- Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programs and health and safety services. And initiate and lead monthly safety toolbox meetings and maintain the records.
- Perform shutter checks, visual discrepancy inspections of radiation sources, leak tests, surveys, pipe swaps, and field inspections
- Assist Inspection Division Manager in maintaining all regulatory compliance records concerning the use, storage, and safety of radiation sources (i.e., licensing, leak test, program audits, source inspections, shutter inspections, training certificates, utilization logs, etc.)
- Verify the data integrity of daily equipment movement radiation utilization logs
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned
- Possess and maintain a valid and current Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) certification and be willing to attend all required continuing education required
- Maintain a current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record required
- Must have knowledge of mechanical and radiation tools
- 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively interact with contractors, vendors, and personnel at all levels of the organization
- Can exercise independent judgment, professionalism, and discretion while performing duties
- Good organization and time management skills, able to prioritize workload and keep detailed records
- Must be driven, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic
- Flexible, can easily handle changes to HSE program requirements and organizational policies
- Proficient working in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software.
- Strong public speaking skills, able to pass knowledge to others in field and classroom environments.
- The ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
- The capability to perform tasks that may require reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
