We are looking for a creative, passionate, seasoned data scientist/machine learning engineer/solution architect to join Inkiru Data Science team at Walmart. You will have the unique opportunity to work with massive business and social data generated by Walmart Inc.'s unparalleled online and offline commerce.

What You'll Do

  1. Perform hands-on data exploration, processing, and analysis on massive data sets.
  2. Use state-of-the-art machine learning, deep learning, and data mining techniques to develop proof-of-concept predictive models.
  3. Communicate the results to stakeholders and present the projects in internal or external conferences.
  4. Research and develop advanced algorithms and techniques that address complex business problems.
  5. Utilize the broad and deep knowledge of Machine Learning and Software Engineering to contribute to the team's core machine learning capabilities.

What You'll Bring

  1. Solid background in machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis, and software development.
  2. Proficient in data mining, machine learning, and deep learning packages in Python/Tensorflow/Keras.
  3. Experience working with large data sets and cloud computing (Hive, Spark, GCP, or Azure).
  4. Proficient in coding SQL, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  5. Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in any STEM field plus 4-6 years of related experience.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
  7. Good communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical associates.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  2. Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  3. 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Outlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position:

  1. Data science, machine learning, optimization models, Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.
  2. Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
  3. Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
  4. Knowledge of accessibility best practices and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
