⚡ Role: Senior Power Trader (Term Trader) (East)

Salary: $150,000+ (Book Value 15-30%)
My client is looking for an experienced Senior Proprietary Power Trader (East) with 5+ years of trading experience in power markets. They are a seeking individuals with experience in PJM, MISO, NYISO & ISO NE markets.
Responsibilities
- Execute proprietary trading of financial power products from prompt to term, with a focus on PJM, MISO, NYISO, and ISO NE markets.
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research and analysis specific to the Eastern Interconnect region.
- Collaborate closely with team members to exchange market insights and trading perspectives.
- Partner with Origination to help price and manage structured transactions when necessary.
- Ensure robust governance by working closely with control functions like Compliance, Risk, and Credit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics from a reputable institution.
- At least 5 years of experience in trading both physical and financial power markets.
- Proven track record in trading heat rates, locational spreads, and time spreads.
- Experience with options trading is a plus.
- Strong understanding of power and gas market fundamentals within the Eastern Interconnect.
- Familiarity with RTO/ISO market rules and tariffs in the Eastern Interconnect.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Risk Management practices.
- Highly driven, able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment.
Skills
- Expertise in proprietary power trading.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
- Programming proficiency is a plus (Python, VBA, SQL).
- Data Science experience is advantageous (R, Power BI, Tableau).
