Job Description
Main duties
-
Leading the setting up and management of Crover's manufacturing operations in Geneva, NY. (Note: the focus will initially be on in-house assembly and external subcontracting of individual parts, coordinating with a network of local and global suppliers for components and custom parts of Crover-designed robots/devices)

Overseeing manufacturing operations and employees / interns, to ensure that production meets the required standards of quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Managing the day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production meets deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints.

Strategic planning and coordination with suppliers and internal manufacturing team, from procurement and production to quality control and distribution, ensuring smooth operations. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.

Regular manufacturing efficiency and processes enhancement: develop and implement strategic plans to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability within the manufacturing division.

Collaborate with the research and development department to improve the ease of manufacturing and cost-effectiveness of parts/subsystems.

Supplier and Vendor Management: managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely procurement of materials and negotiating contracts to reduce costs. Support implementation of cost, quality, and service improvement initiatives.

Leading the implementation of safety and environmental policies in compliance with government regulations and company standards. Ensuring a safe workplace is a priority.

Equipment Preventive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement: directing the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and facilities minimizes downtime and maintains production schedules.

Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by implementing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Ensure employees are compliant to company policies and procedures.

Responsible for time and attendance tracking

Provide mentorship to employees / interns within the department.

Utilizes performance tracking metrics to monitor performance and provides timely feedback to employees on opportunities and recognizes employees for excellence.

Perform quality, environmental, health and safety internal audits.

Write Standard Operating Procedures. Participate in creation of a list of work activities, Risk Assessment, Risk Register and other related health and safety documents.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, i.e. engineering or manufacturing or a comparable qualification. Alternatively, an extensive and proven track record and experience in a leading manufacturing role.

Demonstrated passion for Crover's mission and values.

Ability to prioritize effectively.

At least 2 years of management / supervising experience.

Knowledge of current local and federal health and safety regulations and processes (i.e. OSHA), of environmental controls(i.e. EPA), and of safe disposal of waste regulations (i.e. RCRA)

Strong leadership skills and be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

(BONUS) Expertise in ERP/MRP software platforms and their integration into manufacturing operations.

(BONUS) Training and certification for ISO9001 quality management system, ISO14001 environmental management system and ISO45001 health and safety management system

(BONUS) Expertise in developing and implementing resource efficiency strategies, including: refurbishing, remanufacturing, reverse logistics, defect prevention and waste re duction and minimisation.

Crover offers highly competitive, total compensation packages linked directly to an employee's professional experience. For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $50,000 - $70,000
