**Job Title:** Registered Nurse ICU - Float Pool
**Job Specialty:** Medicine
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Nightshift, every other week; must work some holidays
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week
**Experience:** 1 year of experience
**License:** Current RN License or a current multistate compact RN License
**Certifications:** - Current Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) - ACLS (American Heart Association)
**Must-Have:** - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors - Some computer skills
**Job Description:**
- Provides nursing care in a hospital setting for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision.
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order for assigned patients.
- Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary.
- Administers medication as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Delivers patient care competently.
- Interacts with family and patient by sharing care plans during hospital stays and at the time of discharge.
- Informs patients and families of hospital procedures.
- Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegates tasks to support staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
